The Watson Family

No, we didn't draw a happy face on a rock in a protected desert environment.  We just found it that way.  I'm sure it just grew naturally on it's own.

But I did enjoy every minute of an hour in the White Tanks with one of my favorite families - the fabulous Watsons.  Those boys are growing like weeds, and are seriously more fun every year.

Mr. Noble is a little charmer, and has some pretty smooth moves on that skateboard... the girls are (understandably) already going wild...

And Halon is killing me with those AMAZING freckles.  He is a good brother, and getting really good with that football.  He is such a great kiddo.

And let's not forget the fabulous parents that go along with the dynamic duo.  But don't call them "fatty".  Only they can call each other that.

Seriously... have you ever seen a better looking family?  I love the Watsons.  And so does my camera.

Desert Love

I have lived in the West Valley of Arizona for years (eight!) and somehow have never made it into the White Tank Mountains.  That tragedy has been recently remedied and now I can't seem to stay away.  There are so many beautiful elements to take in, and just being surrounded by layers of mountains mentally whisks me away to my days in the Rockies.  My macro lens is thoroughly enjoying itself as well.  Enjoy a few of our favorite textures!

Mother & Daughter

From a recent session, I just love this sweet interaction between a mama and her baby girl...

The Beautiful Belles

Just a happy morning spent playing with the beautiful Belle girls.  I have been photographing them since their oldest was still inside her Mama... and even though their family now lives out of state, a quick trip to Arizona was the perfect excuse for some updated shots of their sweet babies.

Phoenix in January cannot decide if it's Winter or Spring, so we made the most of both worlds.  Glendale was the perfect spot for our session, with both quiet alleys and sunny stretches of grass.

A flowering pair of sunglasses turned out to be the ideal prop for both adorable shots of the girls, but also the reason for the laughter captured in the shot below.  It's my favorite of the whole morning...

And my second favorite is this one, the "behind the scenes" shot for how we got some early morning smiles out of a sleepy three year old.  Little sisters always make the best props.

Enjoy your previews, Belle ladies.  Just a few more photos over here, since I can't get enough of a good thing!

Canine Candids

I should start by saying that I am NOT a dog person.  Just can't bring myself to love dogs.  Especially ones that slobber profusely.

But this dog is beautiful.  His coat... his oversized paws... his deep wrinkles and folds... I can appreciate the beauty.

This dog is also very sweet.  Big friendly nose... gentle eyes... mild manners and calm movements... I'm not a dog person, but this dog is right up my alley.

An unconventional client, yes, but we spent a sweet and energizing afternoon in the Arizona mountains, learning a few things about how cat-people and dogs really can get along.
