Sam's Bike
Usually, I photograph people. And usually, I like it that way. But today I had a fun challenge - photographing a bike! And not just any bike - the custom made bike of a friend of mine who also happens to be a welder. It was a fun outing and a nice return to the camera during maternity leave.

Ethiopia
We just returned from nine days in Ethiopia and have finally brought home our new daughter: Violet Mariam. The emotions (and exhaustion) are overwhelming but wonderful. I will be taking a full maternity leave for Violet - 12 whole blissful weeks! No full time job and no photography either - except for a few weddings and maternity sessions. (I have a serious issue with saying "no" apparently).
You can read the whole adoption journey back in April's posts on Violet's blog. Day by day goodness, with tons of photos.
I'll be back soon with some more session previews... and this time, as a formal business! It's time to take this whole photography nonsense to the next level: Pro. As in business licenses, sales tax, website, etc. I'm nervous but confident that God has wired me for this!

Angie + Luke
Angie & Luke are some of my favorite people in the world! And if they weren't already, they would be after today's session! They were up for anything and put up with a nosy (nosey?) photographer in their face while they flirted and smooched all evening. I cannot wait to shoot their wedding in October.

Leanne & Mike had such an amazing wedding - it was beautiful, stylish, tender and the reception was just plain fun. Thanks for letting me be a part of this incredible day!

Hello Blog, It's June
Today is June 24th and the iPhone 4 just came out. (In related news, my husband actually camped out at the mall last night to get ours first... and he is sound asleep now at 4pm.)
I know this posting SAYS March, but it's really June. I'm a little late getting into this whole photography blog scene, so I thought I'd back up a few months and post a few recent sessions as samples. Try this thing on for size.
I have been a hobby photographer for years, and up until now, my work could only be seen on my flickr page. I love flickr, but I have outgrown it... time for a real website (!!) and a real photo blog. (And a real mountain of legal business paperwork, but that's a different story.)
So! To see anything prior to March 2010, check out flickr. For anything more recent, just bookmark this blog! Peace out.
